Dharana Ayurvedic Panchakarma

For a life-changing physical and emotional purification

Minimum length of stay: 14/21/28 nights

The ultimate in holistic cleansing systems. This legendary system of detoxification is taken to the next level at Dharana. Using our unique Ayurvedic analysis methods, which combine both manual pulse diagnosis with scientific Naadi Tarangini technology, we first determine the imbalances of your dosha – the three bio-energetic principles which make up every human body. This enables us to then determine the Prakruthi and Vikruthi of each individual, which is the gateway to establishing your innate constitution and where you have been drawn out of balance by everything from emotional stress to how you eat and exercise.

A traditional Panchakarma programme of bio-purification is then tailored to your specific needs in order to detoxify the body, enhance colon health, reignite Agni (digestive fire), cleanse the blood and lymphatic systems, promote inner healing and immunity, and eliminate aggravated doshas to bring you back into balance. The aim is to expel Ama (toxins) both physically and psychologically, whilst clearing the channels (Srothas) through which the body receives and nourishes the 7 Dhattus (tissues).

Extremely thorough and precise, with a meticulously conceived delivery combined with a watchful doctor’s eye, the draw of Panchakarma is that it is as much an emotional cleanse as it is a very physical process. Powerful and purifying, it pacifies that which needs soothing and energises that which needs enlivening. Ultimately it provides a portal to greater harmony and peace and helps to clear the mind and body of past misadventures.

Goals

Restore digestive fire (jataragni) and improve metabolism and nourishment (dhatvagni) through the elimination of waste and toxins (maalas). This is reboot for those looking to wave goodbye to physical ailments (inflammation, muscular tension, arthritis, back problems and more) as well as emotional baggage (stress, depression, anxiety etc). Tackle deep-rooted imbalances in the body. Improve gut health, digestion and absorption, enhance immunity and reduce inflammation.

A carefully calibrated Dincharya (daily routine) and daily consultations help you feel safe and held through what can be a challenging yet highly rewarding process. Very much a lived experience, combining a tailored diet with powerful body and mind work and varying traditional purgation methods, our hope is to offer a detox and cleanse which is an immersive education.

Learn how best to nourish and support your body, and how to harness optimum health in alignment with your constitution and stage of life, not just whilst on retreat but for the long term.

Science & Approach

Ayurveda, (which translates as ‘the science of life’) defines health as a condition in which the body is clear of toxins, organs are functioning normally, the mind is at peace and emotions are calm. As most of us know, life pressures and toxic environments mean that our physical and mental systems can come out of balance. We accumulate toxins which cause deterioration in the functioning of the body-mind axis. This opens the door for chronic, degenerative and unspecified diseases to develop.

Whilst modern-day science is now catching up, Ayurveda has recognised the connection between the brain and the gut for thousands of years. Panchakarma is a tried and trusted method from ancient times, conceived by holy men to purify the body and mind, and, consequently, polish the mirror of the soul, allowing a more intimate relationship with divinity.

Depending on your needs, after the initial stage of drinking ghee (medicated clarified butter), varying treatments, from enemas to liquid purges, are utilised to purge the body. This eliminates harmful Ama through the body’s own organs and channels of elimination and, as a consequence, strengthens the immune system, optimises the functionality of vital organs (such as the liver, spleen and kidney) and restores health and balance.
