Superfoods that boost your health

We live in a world of unbridled abundance bursting with implausible opportunities demanding speed and efficiency. In this fast-moving life, a strong immune system is necessary and that can only be derived out of nutritious food-intake on a regular basis. It is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle for which you need food that is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Science says nutrient-dense foods will not only make you feel good, but also reduce the risk for chronic health diseases whilst helping you achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Superfood, a recently coined term by nutrition experts, entails high density nutrients packed in a single food item. These entities in combination with your regular food provide a complete power-packed meal that nourishes and sustains your being. Superfoods are a must-include as they provide multiple benefits to your health in the long run.

Most superfoods are plant-based; however, a few of these are dairy products. While fish, eggs make the cut, a few of these foods can be singled out for special recognition, like berries, nuts, broccoli, eggs, avocados, flax seeds and many more. Simply, by adding some of these highly ennobled and extremely nutrient dense foods, the system naturally flows and reconnects with the body’s own innate healing intelligence. For a complete body, mind and spirit rejuvenation, one must visit Dharana at Shillim, a retreat centre in India, that is nutrition conscious and offers programmes that help you align to your best self. This eco-retreat has an in-house expert that guides you throughout the holistic wellness journey.  The location of this holistic retreat centre is amidst nature’s beauty rendering a serene experience.

Eating a well-balanced diet:

Superfoods are known to protect your organs from toxins, reduce inflammation, regulate metabolism and help lower your cholesterol. It is essential to remember that superfoods are good for health as they provide proteins and vitamins daily but superfoods alone do not contribute to a healthy diet. Sometimes an excessive quantity of one type of nutrient can be detrimental for your body. It can prevent you from consuming the other nutrients that your body requires daily. Therefore, superfoods should be added as an aid to a well-balanced diet, and not a replacement. A well-balanced and nutritious diet includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and legumes with a healthy addition of superfoods that will nourish your being completely. Besides, if you can limit your intake of sodium, bad fats and refined sugar while indulging in a regular physical activity, it can work wonders for your health. A nutrition expert can guide you towards a well-balanced diet or you can get a customized nutritious diet drawn for you, based on your body tendency at Dharana.

How superfoods and supplements can work together:

Superfoods and supplements go together, they help you optimize overall health and entail more benefits than any other diet form. A few components from these provide nutrients like proteins, healthy fats, and antioxidants that can help you in weight-loss and excess fat-burning. There needs to be a perfect balance of supplements and superfoods to make your food healthy and tasty at the same time.

“Too many of us live in a state of poor health, lethargy and moderate obesity.” In that case, a dash of superfoods with a healthy diet coupled with physical activity can help us live life to its complete capacity.

Minimum length of stay: 14/21/28 nights

The ultimate in holistic cleansing systems. This legendary system of detoxification is taken to the next level at Dharana. Using our unique Ayurvedic analysis methods, which combine both manual pulse diagnosis with scientific Naadi Tarangini technology, we first determine the imbalances of your dosha – the three bio-energetic principles which make up every human body. This enables us to then determine the Prakruthi and Vikruthi of each individual, which is the gateway to establishing your innate constitution and where you have been drawn out of balance by everything from emotional stress to how you eat and exercise.
